Rio Rosa Mosqueta oil is extracted from the seeds of rosehips from the species Rosa affinis rubiginosa. Rosa aff. rubiginosa is a wild shrub native to Central Europe and now growing in the Chilean Andes mountains which is the source of the Rio Rosa Mosqueta oil. The chemical composition of rosehip oil shows a high percentage of polyunsaturated essential fatty acids, as well as tannins, flavonoids, vitamin C, and small quantities of trans-retinoic acid and beta-carotene. The capsules may be used as an adjunct to the topical oil.
