Folic acid is a member of the B complex family. The Govenment's Chief Medical Officers advise that all women planning a pregnancy should take a 400ug folic acid supplement daily from the start of trying to conceive until at least the 12th week of pregnancy. Folic acid (folate) contributes to a reduction in tiredness and fatigue, the normal function of the immune system, normal psychological function, and the processes of normal homocysteine metabolism, amino acid synthesis, cell division and blood formation. DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is a fatty acid.
