in a base of medium chain triglycerides (from coconut oil or palm kernel oil)

Excipients: gelatine, glycerine.

Guaranteed to contain no: maize, soy, yeast, gluten, lactose, added saccharose, preservatives, artificial colouring and flavouring agents, artificial odours. GMO-free.

The vitamin D in this product is of natural origin.


Description

Many people do not synthesise enough vitamin D from sunlight and have low or suboptimal vitamin

D levels, especially during winter and spring. There are many factors that contribute to this problem, e.g. living and working mainly indoors, skin pigmentation, elderly skin, living at higher latitudes, skin-covering clothing or air pollution. Only a small number of food items are sources of vitamin D, so

often supplements are recommended to compensate for an inadequate vitamin D status.

 

Opinions on what are adequate vitamin D serum values differ. However, many experts agree that,

in order to benefit from the recently discovered health benefits of vitamin D, serum values of at least 80 nmol/l are necessary. High doses of vitamin D are often required in order to achieve these serum values.

 

Vitamin D3 is 3-10 times more effective than vitamin D2 in the human body and although vitamin D2

is still often used, many experts do not consider vitamin D2 to be equivalent to vitamin D3 anymore.


Most important characteristics of Vitamin D3 15 mcg/600 IU:

  • Contains the maximum amount of vitamin D legally permitted: 15 mcg (600 IU)
  • The vitamin D is of natural origin
  • In a base of middle-chain fatty acids (MCTs) from coconut oil, therefore beneficial for absorption
  • Small and easy to swallow capsules

  • Contains no vitamin A, therefore there is no danger of overdose

Use

Take 1 capsule daily, during or immediately after a meal. The capsule may be opened if experiencing difficulties with swallowing.

 

Warning

In accordance with the Food and Drugs Act we are obliged to indicate the following on the label: “This product contains a dose of vitamin D only suitable for very young children (1 to 6 years of age), pregnant and lactating women, and people over 60.” However, in our opinion, this product is not only safe for these vulnerable groups, but for everybody, including all adults. Interactions with regular medication and other natural health products may occur. Please consult an expert about this.
