Directions: Take two level measuring spoons dissolved in water or fruit juice one to four times a day. A measuring spoon is included. One level measuring spoon equals approximately 0.6 grams of powder. It is best to take betaine during or immediately after a meal. A relatively high dose of betaine is often used to achieve a proper homocysteine level: 6 grams of powder per day, spread throughout the day. A dose of 0.5 to 1 gram is generally sufficient to support the cardiovascular system. The recommended dosage to support the liver (for example when there is excessive use of alcohol) is 1 to 2 grams powder per day. Lower doses are used as general support for the liver function.
Additional Warnings: TMG might cause an unpleasant body odour in people who suffer from the rare deficiency of the enzyme dimethylglycine-dehydrogenase.
