Natren Digesta-Lac® Dairy Probiotic Powder is step three in Natren’s three-step custom probiotic system. This formula features the specific probiotic strain Lactobacillus bulgaricus, LB-51 transient super strain, which travels through the digestive tract along with food during the digestion process.

Each serving provides a minimum of 2 billion colony forming units (CFU) of Lactobacillus bulgaricus, LB-51. This strain is considered a transient bacterium, meaning it passes through the digestive system as food moves through the body.

The Digesta-Lac® formula was developed based on research by Bulgarian microbiologist Dr. Ivan Bogdanov and inspired by earlier work from Nobel Prize-winning scientist Dr. Elie Metchnikoff, who studied the relationship between fermented dairy foods and the presence of Lactobacillus bulgaricus.

Natren produces Digesta-Lac® using a proprietary process that maintains the probiotic cultures in their original culturing medium (supernatant). The dairy powder format uses milk as a traditional growth medium and can be mixed easily into liquids or foods.

Digesta-Lac® is designed to complement the other components of Natren’s Healthy Trinity® system: Megadophilus® and Bifido Factor®. It is suitable for adults and children over two years of age when used according to the label instructions.
